Final Grade on CN.( Originally posted Sep 21, 2009)

Update: Boy 5 years can change alot can it ? It’s funny i said all this back then when i thought there was no hope left for the network and yet Cartoon Network came around and actually has gotten much better since then. For one we finally got Toonami back around 2012, granted it’s not as epic as it was back in the days of Sailor Moon or DBZ but we got plenty of returning veteran animes like Naruto, One Piece, Ghost in a Shell, Eureka Seven, and even Samural Jack ( One of my top 10 cartoons/Animes of all time) as well pretty good new animes like Deadman Wonderland ,Blue Exorcist, Samurai 7,Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Space Dandy with a few duds like Sword Art Online and with more animes to soon come out like Attack on Titan, a new Batman series and with the Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Kai releasing in Japan this month and the confirmation of a reboot of the Sailor Moon series, expect 2015 to be the return of the nostalgic anime giants of Sailor Moon and DBZ.

We even got the return of Cartoon Cartoon Fridays in 2012 too to see most of our beloved cartoons likeDexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Codename: Kids Next Door, and other original Cartoon Network Studios series such as Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Camp Lazlo, and Chowder and Cartoon Network also returned two 1960s cartoons, The Flintstones and The Jetsons, to its daytime lineup . Really Cartoon Network cleaned up greatly within the last 2-3 years hasn’t.

In addition to putting back stuff that made this channel good, they also made surprisingly good original cartoons as well.Adventure Time, Regular Show, , The Looney Tunes Show, The Amazing World of Gumball and Steven Universe were shows that i thought would be crap but actually turned out to be pretty good and certainty live up to the original Cartoon Cartoon spirit. We even got a decent Saturday Morning lineup with Pokemon still remaining a strong stable for kids as well as Young Justice, a decent successor to the Justice League series i grew up with and the recent DCAU series to be released.I will do an actual updated review of the score for CN in the near future, after finishing my Sailor Moon reviews and covering MLP.

They even got rid of most of the Live Action shit that was plaguing Cartoon Network around the time i originally wrote this rant.

No more The Othersiders, No more Survive This, No more BrainRush, No more Destroy Build Destroy, No more Dude, What Would Happen and No more Bobb’e Says. Hell in 2013, Cartoon Network cancelled both its most recent live-action series, Level Up and Incredible Crew. This currently means the network’s only live-action venture, aside from Flicks, is their annual Hall of Game Awards show. Given the Live Action shit was the worst thing in the late 2000’s as i noted within this review, this is a good thing.

That’s not to say there still isn’t crap on this channel. Johnny Test is still on the air, though to be fair, that’s the least terrible of the shows there,it ranges from mediocre at best to crap.Total Drama Island , now Total Drama All Stars also exist which is really a rehash of rehashes of the same shit i already hate ( seriously, how did this show last 4 seasons ?) Teen Titans Go! A terrible comedy spin off of one of my favorite shows of all time and Uncle Grandpa, a show wirtten by Casey Alexander aka the guy who helped ruined Spongebob Post Film era and thanks to<img src=”https://a.deviantart.net/avatars/m/r/mrenter.jpg?5″ alt=”:iconmrenter:” height=”50″ width=”50″>reviews, can blame him for some of the worst Spongebob episodes i’ve ever seen.

Not to mention it’s a strong form of irony when the very shows i onced liked like Bleach and Family Guy have now become the worst shows i watch on CN. The former because of the lazy, incompetent writing of Kubo and the latter because of the offensively bad episodes, flanderzaiton of characters and a million other problems from Seth MacFarlane who’s more concerned about spreading his message than writing a good show but that’s a rant for another day. I think most people already know how i feel about Bleach given i recap every terrible chapter it produces every fucking week but i don’t think i ever got the chance to tear into Family Guy, expect me to cover that pretty soon.

Yeah Cartoon Network has cleaned up it’s act. If only Nickeloden can do the same. Overall Current CN gets a 85 from me.

Original Rant

Well I’m just sick and fucking tried of CN and it’s programming,in fact i’m so repulsed by the channel i don’t even want to watch that channel, even with the very few remaining cartoons left on that channel. This is my final review on this god forsaken channel, unless Cartoon Network does something too stupid to ignore or  it  finally gets canceled. Here’s what i hope to be the last review of this shitty channel.

I stated 3 months ago on my first review against CN Real. I don’t go to Cartoon Network for Survivor and Mythbuster rip-offs! These shows are like a Cash Cab ripoff for kids and on roller coasters. If enough people boycott CN Real, we can stop this cancer before Cartoon Network is further degraded. Maybe even take it down quicker then Out of Jimmy’s Head. CN is trying to become 1990’s Nickelodeon and failing miserably. Seriously, if they want to do this, can’t Ted Turner create another damn channel for it? It’s mind-boggling that the execs at CARTOON Network are allowing the channel to be plagued by LIVE ACTION shows. Is this some lame attempt at diversification? Are they trying to rip off Nickelodeon? Who knows. At this point, I’m just watching CN slowly die from the inside out.

Cartoon Network was once a mecca of greatness and great cartoons is now a wasteland of garbage caused by the idiotic decisions of the executives in the last 3 years .especially the cancellation of Toonami which was the final blow struck into the network.thus ending it’s right to exist as a Cartoon Network. Cancelling Toonami and Cartoon Cartoon Fridays was the BIGGEST mistake EVER! Cartoon Network use to be my favorite network to watch 24/7. But now they turned it into a joke! UGH! I want Toonami back, I want Cartoon Cartoon Fridays back, I want the old anime like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z! 98 and 00 was Cartoon Network at it’s apex with Cartoon Cartoon Fridays and Toonami especially with Sailor Moon ,Dragon Ball Z, Bleach and Code Geass as well as Death Note are the only good shows left, though they finished both Death Note and Code Geass a while ago so Bleach is the only great show that is releasing new episodes on the entire network.

This Saturday marked the 1 year anniversary of the death of Toonami and the death blow to Cartoon Network which was weaken by a series of shitty Canadian import cartoons,(no offense to Canadians but your cartoons suck)now time to put the final nail in the coffin and officially declare this the actual death of a dying network.it’s time we pull the plug on CN.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim is Cartoon Network’s adult-oriented sister network, which premiered on September 2, 2001, in the USA.

Originally a Sunday-only block that was rerun on Thursdays, Adult Swim now airs all week starting at 10:00 PM (E/P) with an encore airing at 2 a.m. every night and then ending at 6 A.M. EST. The block, programmed by Williams Street, plays American animated comedy series and shorts as well as a wide variety of mature anime series (now moved exclusively to Saturday and early Sunday morning) and Original video animations (OVA) geared towards audiences 17 and older.

In 2005, Adult Swim was split from Cartoon Network so that Nielsen Media Research could treat it as a separate channel for ratings purposes. However, Adult Swim programming still airs as a block on the same broadcast channel as Cartoon Network.

It’s the only great thing remaining on this network,if this goes, this channel will be completely destroyed. There are great shows still left on this channel, for example there is Bleach, a great show about bad-ass death gods fighting evil spirits and protecting the balance of humanity and this is the only remaining qauilty of the channel. All shows on Adult Swim are great including Family Guy, Robot Chicken and Code Geass are the only good shows left on that entire network and those aren’t even CN cartoons, those are Adult Swim cartoons. So for 22 and a half hours there is nothing but bullshit on cartoon network, this channel has it’s faults with some stupid horrible shows such as the Mighty Boosh,Superjail, Tim and Eric.Still despite the few shitty shows, the network is mostly great especially with Bleach in it’s lineup.

Overall Score:80

Total Drama Tuesdays

Total Drama Tuesdays is a block that airs Tuesday evenings, showing Total Drama Island at 8:00, Total Drama Action at 8:30, Stoked at 9:00, and 6 Teen at 9:30. Sometimes it shows the newest episodes of Total Drama Action and Stoked. The block took on a one-week hiatus on September 15, 2009 due to an encore of Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins.

Whoa this block sucks ass,in fact just the name alone implies this lineup sucks, the have a full hour of the worst cartoon on CN right now Total Drama Island, which is bullshit, this is the worst shit ever.

This show sucks. All they have is toilet humor and mindless slapstick comedy which is not funny. A lot of it gross or stupid,it’s poorly designed,it’s stupid and i hate it. it’s characters are nothing more but stupid and uncreative various teenage and reality show stereotypes.it’s the worst piece of shit i ever saw,it makes Out of Jimmy’s head look like Dragon Ball z and i really hated out of jimmy’s ass crack bastard child of survivor and the real world is a abomination to cartoons. This is the most uninspired, uncreative, poorly wirtten, poorly designed, unoriginal, piece of rotten Canadian ham shit i ever saw in my life. They even have a new show stoked which is a another shitty show. I just call it Stroke because i rather have a heart attack than watch this.

Overall score:0

CN Real

CN Real is a programming block with live-action reality programming which airs every Wednesday, which started on beginning June 17, 2009. The block, which at the launch of “Real” was split into one hour each between the two nights, features the programs The Othersiders, Survive This, Brain Rush and Destroy Build Destroy. Network executives and critics have expressed concern about alienating Cartoon Network’s core audience with this block. On August 19, 2009, Brain Rush and Destroy Build Destroy were removed on the block and got replaced with 2 new shows, Bobby Says and Dude, What Would Happen?. The concerns appear to have been well-founded, as none of the shows have built any ratings momentum, much less ended up in the top ten programs aired on the network.

Man does it suck, what the fuck was that ? Is this suppose to be a motherfucking joke? What the hell are live action reality shows doing on  Cartoon Network?  CN Real sucks. This proves that Cartoon Network has officially sold out! Apparently they’re that desperate for ratings if they are ripping off Survivor and Ghosthunters and the stupid music doesn’t make it any better.

Overall score:UNDER 9000 EPIC FAIL.

Har Har Tharsdays

Har Har Tharsdays is a block of programming on Cartoon Network that started airing June 5, 2008. The block airs comedy series such as Chowder, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Total Drama Action, and Stoked, although this schedule changes regularly. The block sometimes changes its name to commemorate certain events, like “Star Star Starsdays” (in honor of the premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars) “Heart Heart Theartsdays” (for Valentine’s Day) or “Scare Scare Scaresdays” (for Halloween). On September 10, 2009, 6 Teen was removed from the Har Har Tharsdays block.

Again no comment on this shit storm of cartoons. The only half decent cartoon there is Chowder really, Flapjack and Total Drama Action being the worst cartoons there.

Overall score:30(as low as Sailor Moons math score)

You Are Here

You Are Here is a Friday night action/adventure block that premiered on October 3, 2008, temporarily taken off the air on June 26, 2009, and brought back on September 11, 2009, which airs between 8 PM and 10 PM as other blocks do. While official press releases list the block as “Action Fridays” or simply “Friday night action/adventure block”, it is commonly referred to as ‘You Are Here’ or ‘2nd Pulse’ but the Limited moniker was added, as well as a new blue color scheme, on May 1, 2009. The programming consists of The Secret Saturdays, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Star Wars: The Clone Wars decoded, and Ben 10: Alien Force. The only good cartoons within this lineup are the Secret Saturdays which seems decent enough, Batman the Brave and the Bold which is quite decent too and Ben 10 Alien Force, a decent spinoff of the original Ben 10.

Overall Score:40

Saturday CrushZone

Saturday CrushZone is a Saturday morning action block that shows The Secret Saturdays, Ben 10: Alien Force, Pokémon, Bakugan, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, Chaotic and Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.

Overall Score:25

Overall score: 20/100 EPIC FUCKING FAIL
